Matej Avanzo, former director of marketing and senior National teams at Basketball Federation of Slovenia, one of the leading organizers of EuroBasket 2013 and former director of HC Gorenje Velenje and BC Sixt Primorska. He is an international basketball delegate and was formerly a member of FIBA Competitions committee and a member of the council at Slovenian Foundation for Financing Sports Organistions. Despite not having turned 40 yet, this sports and especially basketball fanatic has enviable experience when it comes to marketing, communications and event management. His innovative approach is very convincing and manages to persuade even those die hard traditionalists, who would like to do everything “the same as last year”. Founding partner of Spontanzo (previously known as Sportanzo) is a man of his word and action, with his head in new, different and sometimes crazy approaches. Organizational guru with a sense of making trustworthy and reliable decisions. During these last years, his focus moved away from sports, mainly into the world of theatre, comedy and education.
Andreja's Potočnik Krajnik life journey is connected with sports. She started as a youngster under the basketball hoops and after reaching her young adulthood she moved to Ljubljana to pursue a career as a sports journalist and an editor of sport web sites. She contributed to a radio programme at one of Ljubljana’s radio station, worked on the content for a football TV magazine “Naš nogomet” and studio program before Euroleague basketball games. She met the team of Sportanzo while working at EuroBasket2013, where she worked as a media liaison at one of the venues. She has had experience working for Football Association of Slovenia and during UEFA Euro Under17, she also gained invaluable knowledge as a graphic designer and worked on an European programme on waste management. She has a holistic approach to new challenges and projects, which, when mixed with her communicative skills and excellent feel for an organisation, leads to original solutions for each customer. And as a woman, she represents one of the pillars of the team, to which she is devoted.
Nik has an inseparable bond with sports since childhood. He started playing basketball at the tender age of six, but soon found his passion in volleyball, which he still plays today. He graduated from the University of Tourism Studies in Portorož and later pursued his master's degree at the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana, which he successfully completed in 2021. He gained experience in the field of marketing and event management from various marketing agencies. He actively contributes to organizing both sports and corporate events for many Slovenian and foreign clients. In 2022, he was the project manager of the Futures Ljubljana – CEV beach volleyball tournament. Last but not least, he is a smiley tall young man and a great adventurer who uses his every free moment to travel to exotic destinations.
Walter Jeklin is a former Slovenian basketball national team player, sports director of Slovenia and Poland's senior men's national team and president of Polonia 2011 Basketball Club, the director of Zielona Gora Basketball Club, the Polish champions playing in the elite ULEB Euroleague in 2015/16, and the director of Basketball Club Sixt Primorska. With his prudence and caution, Walter brings stability and responsibility, and with his great experience in basketball as a player and official, always comes up with good solutions. For him, organising sports teams is a piece of cake, and they are still looking for the right word in the dictionaries – Slovenian and Polish – for his great knowledge of sports.
Aljaž Močnik discovered journalist in his last year of high school in Novo Mesto. He started as a journalist with web portal kosarka.si, while starting his work with Basketball Association of Slovenia, where he worked in different areas for the next eight years. He was the head of communications of the Women’s Under 18 European Championship and worked with both, Men’s and Women’s national teams. After working with basketball national teams, he transitioned to club environment and a new sport, starting to work as a media officer for Handball club Gorenje Velenje and Basketball club Koper Primorska. In 2019 he re-joined the Sportanzo team after being away for two years. He is a multimedia expert who is not only savvy with words but also with photos, videos and graphic design. His motto for working with clients isn’t “how much” but “how good”.
Florijan Ropert is an economist by education, basketball player by soul, and a creative mind by nature. Before joining Spontanzo he acquired the experience as a volunteer at the Football Association of Slovenia, as a writer at a sports media portal and a copywriter at a digital marketing agency as well as completing an internship at the basketball club Cedevita Olimpija. He keeps in touch with the academic world as a postgraduate student on a marketing course and a teaching assistant at the School of Business and Economics, University of Ljubljana. The representative of Spontanzo's offspring closely follows business and marketing trends in Sports and is fascinated by innovative approaches to digital communication and unique sports social media content. Although he follows the principle that "still waters run deep", he is ready to face any challenge in his youthful enthusiasm.
Anže Blažič is a former sports journalist, public relations representative at the Basketball Federation of Slovenia and head of comunication of the EuroBasket U20 in 2012 and EuroBasket 2013. As a man of action, it is never to difficult to work all night for a client, and convince them with ideas for which he can prove his point every step of the way to achieve quality communication. In his work, he has left a great mark in the field of knowledge and communication in sports and development of social networks, as well as a sense of organizing top-level events. He adores the organization of "ad hoc" campaings and he loves to search for creative solutions to communicate "outside of the box".
Tjaša Pavlič has been in the sports for almost all of her life. In her youth, she trained and participated in many different sports, but basketball and skiing have always been her first love. She is still active in both of these sports - as a ski instructor and an assistant judge. She decided to study at the Faculty of Social Sciences, where she has graduated in journalism. However, because of her strong interest in business, she decided to continue her studies at the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana, where she completed her master's degree. At the end of high school, she began actively help at the Slovenian National Basketball Team's games and other projects involving basketball, including EuroBasket 2013. During her studies, she tested her skills in writing various type of content for different media, but later she found out that her passion lies in organizing events with a touch of managing paperwork, and therefore she finds herself at Spontanzo.
Lara Torkar is a former dancer, who has through performances at various sports and other events developed her love for sports. In the future she would like to work in the field of sports, because she is a big fan of it. She is a journalist by education. During the study she did her mandatory practice at Šport TV, and additionally upgraded her knowledge with work at the sports editorial office Televizija Slovenija and at the project of the 60th Vitranc Cup at the GIG Agency. After completing her studies, she is happy to gain experiences with an internship at KK Cedevita Olimpija. Although calm and quiet, in the desire for new information, she will always gather knowledge with a big spoon.
